IPE is a dense, hard, and beautiful hardwood grown in limited areas throughout South America, including Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador and Peru. IPE is legendary for its resistance to decay, with numerous applications showing the products resistance still highly effective after 50-75 years from time of installation.
IPE also holds a unique distinction, in that raw IPE lumber (without any treatment) achieves a class A level of fire resistance, the only wood species in the world to claim that ability.
FSC Certified IPE has been a difficult product to source, and after painstaking months of investigation Panel Source is happy to be able to offer our customers FSC IPE, in both lumber and decking sizes.
Lumber sizes available: 2x4, 2x6, 2x8, and 2x10. All lumber is S4Si, Kilni Dried, and graded to a #1 premium grade.
Decking sizes available: 5/4x4, 5/4x5, 5/4x6, and 5/4x8. Like IPE Lumber, IPE Decking is S4S, Kiln Dried and graded to #1 premium grade. In addition, all decking features a 1/8" radius edge on all four sides.
